Our Lady of Guadalupe parish carries out it’s activities through the following ministries.
Administration Ministry
The administration ministry oversees a range of responsibilities, including financial management, human resources, facility maintenance, and logistical coordination of events and activities in the church. It ensures the smooth functioning of parish, and other ecclesiastical entities, allowing our priests and pastoral workers to focus on spiritual and pastoral care.
The ministry plays a crucial role in supporting the parish mission by handling practical matters, enabling the parish to effectively serve its congregants and fulfill its broader religious and charitable objectives. Additionally, the ministry is guided by principles of stewardship, transparency, and accountability, reflecting the parish’s commitment to responsible and ethical management of its resources.

The pastoral ministry ensures that the faithful are nurtured, guided, and empowered to live as true disciples. It is not just about religious rituals but about building a faith-filled, compassionate, and united Christian community.
Through pastoral ministry, the Parish becomes a spiritual home where parishioners find hope, healing, and a sense of belonging. This is through the Small Christian Communities (SCC), Church Groups, Associations, Sacraments, Catechesis, faith formation, and accompanying individuals in their spiritual and personal journeys, helping them grow closer to God. This is fulfilled through the following departments;
- Sacramental rites: Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Matrimony.
- Liturgy: Mass, Formation of liturgy team
- Catechetical programs: For both adults and young catechumen aged from 10 years.
- Pre-Cana Instructions: For mature adults who are ready and willing to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony.
- Spiritual Guidance and Formation: For all who would want to be guided spiritually.
- Youth Formation: Motivation, talent identity and physical activities.
- Bible Study etc.

Social Ministry

The social ministry is service-oriented and extends the teachings of love, compassion, and justice into practical actions that benefit individuals, families, and communities. These services in our parish intend to offer emotional and psychological support to individuals and families facing challenges, trauma, or mental health issues. These services helps the parish to work towards building strong and resilient communities by investing in infrastructure, economic development, and social programs. This is fulfil through the following departments;

Ephphatha Ministry to the Deaf
The Ephphatha Ministry was established in 2008 to address the unique needs and enrich the spiritual journey of our deaf parishioners. Led by a dedicated team of volunteers and staff, this department not only teaches the beautiful Kenyan sign language, but also make it possible for them to engage fully in the liturgy, participate in religious education, and build a stronger connection with their faith community. Beyond sign language instruction, the ministry serves as a welcoming and supportive space for those wishing to receive sacraments such as Baptism, first Holy Communion and marriage. Services include;
- Kenyan Sign Language Classes: Level 1 (Ksh. 6,000), 2 (Ksh. 5,500), and 3 (Ksh. 5,500): Open to all People: Sunday from 2:00p.m to 4:00p.m
- Liturgy Trainings Classes: Sunday from 3:00p.m to 5:00p.m
- Catechism for Sacraments: During School Holiday
- Empowerment Ministry for the Deaf
Religious Congregations
The Archdiocese of Nairobi has about 235 Diocesan Clergy, 230 Religious Institutes and Women Congregations, 90 Religious Institutes and Men Congregations, 8 University Level Institutions, 11 Major Seminaries, 1 Minor Seminary, 30 Catholic Lay Movements and Associations, 15 Spiritual Retreat Centers and 9 Catechetical Centers. Members of various religious congregations visit Our Lady of Guadalupe and participate in the celebration of Mass and other church activities.
Security Services
The security services aims at safeguarding the physical and spiritual well-being of clergy, congregants, and the church’s property. Their responsibilities typically include ensuring the safety of worshippers during religious services, events, and gatherings, as well as protecting the church’s assets and sacred relics. The personnel occasionally assist in crowd control, emergency response, and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere within the church premises. In some cases, security personnel collaborate with law enforcement agencies to address more significant security concerns and uphold the Church’s commitment to maintaining a welcoming and secure environment for its members and visitors.
