The outstation, before being named St. Bhakita, was composed of 3 SCCS, namely St. Mary; Gombreru, St. John; Kisumu Ndogo, and St. Agnes; Mama Okinda. Members of these communities used to meet at Charity Sisters compound currently Charity Brothers in Gatwekera Sarangombe. All were under St. Michael Parish; Otiende.
Due to a considerable distance to St. Michael Parish; Otiende, many Christians found it difficult to attend Mass. That is when the leadership thought of having a place where they could have Mass and pray. Luckily land was identified in the area of Gatwekira for that purpose in 1998.
Through SCC contributions they acquired the land in 2001. In 2021, demolitions took place due to the railway expansion therefore, close to half the land was fragmented. However, constructions resumed in 2026 to continue with the initial purpose of praying and assisting the community, both spiritually and socially.
Mass at St. Bakhita is 8am (Kiswahili)
